This location is home to our Community Workshop and Learning Space. During specific hours each week, members can book a bench in the workshop to work on their own projects.
Our staff team is also based from this location. There is someone in most days 10:00am -2:00pm

Book a Bench
These weekly members access sessions are for all levels of experience.
You will have access to:
- PPE
- a wide range of large-format tools,
- an individual workbench,
- and our volunteers and other members will be happy to guide you through every step of your project.
Book a Bench – Supported Access
Each week, we we have a dedicated time where we give exclusive access to the workshop to members with specific access needs. Booking via Humantix is required.
This time slot rotates between the following groups:
Women & Non-Binary Makers Session
A monthly session for women (cis and trans) and non-binary people to work on their own project in a safe and inclusive space.
We believe there is no “right way” to look like a woman or a non-binary person. We celebrate all gender presentations and identities—whether you are high-femme, masculine-presenting, or anywhere in between, you belong here exactly as you are.
This session is led by volunteers.
You must be an Edinburgh Tool Library Member and have an up to date workshop safety induction.
LGBT+ Makers Session (coming soon)
Coming Soon- A monthly session for any LGBT+ identifying person to work on their own project in a safe and inclusive space.
This session is led by trained staff and supported by volunteers
Young Adult Makers Session (coming soon)
A monthly session for people aged 18-25 of all genders work on their own project in a safe and inclusive space.
Disabled Makers Session (coming soon)
A monthly session for disabled makers to work on their own project in a safe, supported and inclusive space. This session used to run from Portobello.
You must have an up to date workshop safety induction.
Classes and Courses
Open to members of the public. No membership, safety induction or previous experience required.
Members get 10% discount on all classes.
Proceeds from these classes go towards running the tool library and subsidising access for people on lower incomes
