At the Edinburgh Tool Library, we provide practical, accessible learning experiences for groups. Our goal is simple: to help people build confidence, learn new skills, and forge strong community connections through fun, hands-on activities.

Example Classes Include:
- Introduction to Power Drills: Master the basics and lose the fear.
- Make a Candle Holder: The perfect gift or addition to your home
- Make a Habitat Box: Give local nature somewhere cosy to sleep
- Make a Lamp: Learn basic electrics as well as woodworking
Our Space
Our fully equipped Leith Community Workshop and Learning Space is available throughout the week to host your group.
This venue is not wheelchair accessible. Improvements are planned.

Small Group Session (2 hours)
Price: £ 360 per session (inc VAT)
Capacity: Up to 5 people (Taught by 1 expert tutor)
Duration: 2 hours
Perfect for: Learners who thrive in a quieter environment, need a bit more personal space to work, or prefer a less noisy setting.
What’s included: One Tutor, A full workbench, all materials, PPE, refreshments, Tool Library Workbook
Large Group Sessions (2 hours)
Price: £ 610 per session (inc VAT)
Capacity: Up to 10 people (Taught by 2 expert tutors)
Duration: 2 hours
Perfect for: Groups enjoy a busier environment and are comfortable working around more people and a bit more noise.
What’s included: Two tutors, Half a workbench, all materials, PPE, refreshments, Tool Library Workbook
3rd Sector Group Session (2 hours)
Price: £ 510 per session (inc VAT)
Available to third sector groups only, subject to volunteer availability
Capacity: Up to 10 people (Taught by 1 expert tutors and one volunteer)
Perfect for: Groups enjoy a busier environment and are comfortable working around more people and a bit more noise.
What’s included: Two tutors, Half a workbench, all materials, PPE, refreshments, Tool Library Workbook
Group Induction (1 hour)
Price: £75 per session (inc VAT)
Up to 5 people will be inducted by one tutor
Recommended for groups with individuals who would like to become members and book a bench in our workshop during members access hours to work on their own projects.
Induction includes; a workshop tour, health and safety, instruction of use of large format machinery
Workshop Tour (1 hour)
Price: FREE
Up to 10 people can shown around the workshop
Recommended for groups who are curious about The Edinburgh Tool Library and those who would benefit from a familiarisation visit before coming to a class.
